I am 35 and have been living in Minneapolis for the last 5 years as a part of my company’s project. My wife and our son stay with my parents in Delhi. Jyoti my wife switches between her full-time job and motherhood pretty easily because my parents are healthy and active. I was recently introduced to NRI Family Health by a colleague who enrolled with their services sometime back. I thought that it was good if someone could get us a second opinion for my mom’s Irritable Bowel Syndrome and also if someone could get us green corridor access to docs and help at doing regular testing. My father goes into splits every time he has to visit a hospital of do a simple blood test. Getting him to do a regular scan is like asking toddler to play soccer. Idea behind enrolling for these services was to in ways motivate him to oblige as someone is going to do most of the hard work and all he has to do is to sit in the car and go. Well he did throw tantrums initially but then he agreed with a grudge, but yeah he was doing it. I got the service for both of them and the second opinion thing was working really well for my mom. Things were fine until one bad day dad slipped and fractured his thigh bone.
My wife rushed home and took him to the hospital in an ambulance. She called up NRI Family health to get them to arrange for a specialist. NRI family Health suggested a few hospitals and arranged for a specialist to attend to him. He was wheeled into the emergency and straight away put on pain killers. ”
Wife mentioned to me that the hospital was up-class and looked dependable. The doctors there recommended surgery and it seemed pretty complicated to me. I chose to take a second opinion from docs in the US through NRI health Care. To my relief the docs in India were bang on and I gave them a nod to operate. His bone was successfully repaired and was out of the hospital in less than a week. There was no insurance cover for him (now we have it) so had to foot the bill, we had in this whole commotion forgotten that we could get a 10% off on the bill for being a member with NRI Family Health. Good that we got it, thank you NRI family Health Two months post the surgery he was walking well and was asked to go through a little physiotherapy. Jyoti called up NRI Family to check if she could get any discounted rates on this, they gladly referred a few. NRI family Health picked him up every day, got the therapy done and dropped him back. I am glad that I am with these NRI Family Health people. More than me it is my family back in India which is happy. One bit of their life is now been taken care well-Health.
